Troubleshooting Common Flight Issues

GPS Signal Lost

Symptoms: "GPS signal weak" warning, unable to enter GPS mode.
Solutions: Wait 2-3 minutes for satellite acquisition (need 10+ satellites). Move to open area away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Check magnetic interference (KP index). Recalibrate compass if error persists.

Compass Error

Symptoms: "Compass error, calibrate compass" message, drone spinning or drifting.
Solutions: Calibrate in open area away from metal objects, vehicles, and power lines. Rotate horizontally 360° slowly, then vertically 360°. If error repeats, check for magnetic interference or internal hardware issues.

Gimbal Overload

Symptoms: Shaky footage, gimbal error message, camera tilted.
Solutions: Remove gimbal protective cover before flight (common beginner mistake). Check for obstructions or debris. Perform gimbal calibration in app settings. If physical damage, contact support.

Motors Not Starting

Symptoms: Props dont spin, motor error beeps.
Solutions: Check ESC calibration. Ensure battery is fully seated and connected. Inspect motor wires for damage. Try motor test in app diagnostics. Clear debris from motors.

Video Transmission Lag

Symptoms: Choppy video feed, delayed response, frozen image.
Solutions: Reduce distance or eliminate obstacles between controller and drone. Switch frequency band (2.4GHz for range, 5.8GHz for clarity). Close background apps consuming bandwidth. Update firmware.

Battery Not Charging

Symptoms: No charging LED, battery not recognized.
Solutions: Clean battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol. Try different charger/outlet. Check if battery is over-discharged (needs recovery mode charging). If battery is swollen, dispose properly—do not attempt to charge.

RTH (Return to Home) Not Working

Symptoms: Drone doesnt return when RTH triggered.
Solutions: Ensure Home Point was recorded at takeoff (wait for GPS lock before launching). Check RTH altitude is set higher than obstacles. Verify sufficient battery for return journey.
